Outstanding Corporate Citizen

Protective Life Corporation

Protective Life Corporation has supported United Cerebral Palsy of Greater Birmingham for the last twenty years.  Through generous gifts to the annual campaign, as well as significant gifts to the capital campaign for Hand In Hand in 2001 and the capital campaign for LINCPoint in 2006, Protective Life Corporation has helped thousands of children and adults with disabilities and their families.

Through charitable giving to the community through their Foundation, Protective Life’s goals are to contribute to the welfare and quality of life of the local community, to be a corporate leader and a pacesetter in giving and to work in partnership with other organizations, corporations and individuals to find solutions for some of the difficult human and economic situations in our community.  In 2008 alone the Protective Life Foundation contributed to 147 organizations in the communities in which they serve.

Protective Life Corporation has also partnered with UCP of Greater Birmingham’s Gone for Good Secure Document Destruction in support individuals with disabilities, providing them the opportunity to gain independence through employment.  Through these work opportunities, individuals with severe disabilities learn job and life skills that provide them with something even more valuable than their beloved paychecks, the pride of a job well done.

For all these reasons we honor Protective Life Corporation with our 2010 Outstanding Corporate Citizen Award.
