News from Dr. E - April 2010
Congratulations to The Civiettes Club of Birmingham on two outstanding events benefiting United Cerebral Palsy of Greater Birmingham. Runway to the Race and Race Without Limits raised over $45,000 to benefit programs and services we provide to children and adults with disabilities and their families. Everyone at UCP thanks our sponsors – the Civiettes and Backus Orthodontics , Gus Mayer, Manhattan South, Doree, Schaeffer Eye Center, MOP, Harley Davidson, Old Car Heaven, M.J. Harris, Young Professionals of Birmingham, and Mountain High Outfitters . Always, but especially in challenging economic times, we are grateful for the generous support of individuals, businesses and organizations that help us meet our mission. And, of course, it would not have been possible without the dedication, commitment and caring of the women of The Civiettes Club of Birmingham. Their leadership and devotion continues to make dreams come true for children, adults and families in our community.
Speaking of families, it was wonderful to see all the current and former UCP staff and families at Race Without Limits. What an amazing day – over 250 runners in the 8K and hundreds more in the 1-mile Fun Run. Some came to run, some to walk, and others just to be a part of the celebration. What a wonderful opportunity for all of us to get together and show support for The Civiettes Club and UCP. It is always good to get together with others in the UCP family to celebrate how far we’ve come and what lies ahead. As we head into Spring, we look forward to sharing with you the many exciting things happening at UCP.
Thank you to all who help children and adults with disabilities live a life without limits!
